We make hundreds of choices every single day. But when making certain choices, sometimes we look for the opinion of others. In this situation we can either seek the advice of experts or our friends. Most people would go for the advice of their friends and family.
The most common thing among the previous generations was word of mouth. In the sense that our parents and grandparents would rather listen to their friends and family over experts. Many a times you have gone to a certain doctor due to recommendations rather than expertise. You might have bought kitchen utensils because the owner once spoke to your grandmother really well. You buy flowers from the same shop daily because your neighbour gave a good review about them. You buy monthly provisions from the same kirana store because the owner talks nicely and also provides discounts. When you look at the pattern, it shows the other’s recommendations makes you purchase something. We see this happening everyday and let it go unnoticed.
Word-of-mouth accounts for 19 percent of all purchases and has a 90 percent effect on the rest. Everyone on the planet uses word-of-mouth to make purchasing decisions. The only way you business can grow to great heights is when your clients talk good about your service and that’s only possible if you actually provide quality service. Once you establish this, you can motivate your customers to tell others and over time you’ll be able to see your customer base increase and your brand grow.
